Overview

TokSlash is a local-first tool. Your code, files, and data never leave your machine. All processing — file reading, caching, block editing, and indexing — happens entirely on your computer.

What We Collect

When you purchase a Pro license through our payment provider (Creem), we receive:

  • Your email address
  • Transaction ID and license key
  • Device activation records (a unique hardware-derived identifier + activation date)

For Free tier users, anonymous cache-hit counts are stored locally on your device for quota enforcement only. This data never leaves your machine and is not transmitted to our servers.

We do not collect:

  • File contents or code
  • Browsing history or analytics
  • Personal identifiers beyond your email

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:

  • Contract performance: Processing your email and transaction data is necessary to provide your license and manage activations.
  • Legitimate interest: We retain activation records to prevent license sharing and fraud.

How We Use Your Data

  • License management: To verify your Pro license and track device activations (max 3 per license)
  • Communication: To send your license key via email and respond to support requests
  • Refund processing: To revoke licenses when refunds are issued

Data Storage & Retention

Activation records are stored in a SQLite database on our server in Shenzhen, China. We do not share this data with third parties.

Retention period: We retain your email address and transaction records for as long as your license is active, plus 5 years for tax and accounting purposes (after which data is automatically deleted). Device activation records are retained until you request deletion or your license is revoked.

International transfers: By using TokSlash Pro, you consent to your data being transferred to and stored in China. For EU users, we rely on your explicit consent for such transfers.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your activation records at any time by emailing support@stratsapien.com. Your license key will be revoked upon deletion.

Under applicable data protection laws, you also have the right to access, rectify, port, and restrict the processing of your personal data.

California residents: We do not sell your personal information as defined by CCPA. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals.

Third-Party Services

Creem (payment provider): Processes payments and stores your purchase information. Their privacy policy applies: creem.io/privacy

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of TokSlash after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
